Haven't you learned by now to be careful when visiting my blog? ;-).Yes, it's time for another quiz. If you're a crime fiction fan, then you know there've been a lot of famous crime novels. And of course, you know who wrote them all, don't you? Or do you?
Take this handy quiz and find out. Read each novel's description and match it to the correct author. When you've finished, check your score to see how you have done. Oh, and don't forget to click all the way to the end of the quiz, so you can find out which items you've answered correctly.
Ready????? Click the typewriter to begin.... if you dare ;-)
I failed. Obviously I need to read a few of these for the Vintage Mystery challenge. :D
ReplyDeleteKaren - You know, I think it is absolutely impossible to read every single good mystery there is out there. At least I know I haven't been able to do that.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, I scored 100 per cent though I was sure I had got three or four wrong. Great quiz, Margot (though to paraphrase Mandy Rice Davis, I would say that wouldn't I?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun.
Maxine - I'm not amazed at all! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :-), and thanks for reminding me of that quote :-)!
ReplyDeleteI failed. I guess I need to spend more time reading :)
ReplyDeleteMargot: I hope the exams you set for your students are not as tough. I felt relieved when I got 70%. I find it as interesting what I did not know as what I did know as to what I had to guess. Thanks for the exam.
ReplyDeleteAlan - Ah, but you write! And that is a pretty amazing thing :-).
ReplyDeleteBill - I always think it's interesting to reflect on what I don't know, too. It makes me wonder how we choose what to remember and what not to remember... I'm glad you enjoyed the quiz. And you really don't want to hear what my students say about my grading. Please. Really ;-).
Well I passed with 80 per cent only. One I should have known, the other one was a wild guess from my side and obviously I get it wrong.
ReplyDeleteJosé Ignacio - I've had that happen, too, where something I should have known just completely leaves my mind. But still, You did quite a fine job! I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI am a bit lucky to have gotten 90% - couple of guesses there. Great fun as always Margot.
ReplyDeleteBernadette - So glad you enjoyed the quiz :-). And I hardly call it luck - you know your stuff quite well.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent way to start my weekend - a little brain teasing! I got 100% with the help of a little research
ReplyDeleteKerrie - Why, thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed working those "little grey cells" ;-). And why not take advantage of how easy it is to look things up these days... :-).
ReplyDeleteOh, I failed but always have so much fun taking the quiz.

Thoughts in Progress
Mason - I'm very glad you enjoy these quizzes, even if you don't get all of the answers right :-).
ReplyDelete8 for certain + 2 qualified guesses equals 100%
ReplyDeletePalle - I am impressed! Very well done :-) :-).
ReplyDeleteI didn't do well at all! I only knew the ones I've read - like Christie, Sayers, and so on - and nothing at all about Le Carre, for instance. Woman in White is on my wishlist though...
ReplyDeleteDeniz - Let's face it; there are so many fine novels out there that it's just about impossible to read them all. And it's only natural to focus on authors one likes. The more I read, the more I realise how much I haven't read...
