Isn't She Lovely*

Hello, All,

My apologies if I haven't been as active in the last day or so in the blogosphere as I usually am. However, I think this counts as an excuse :-).

I'd like to introduce my brand-new grand-daughter, Lelah Amaya Lopez, born at 4:12am U.S. Pacific time 16 March 2011, 3.24 kg, 51.4 cm.

Mum and baby are both doing very well. Grandma hasn't slept for 26 hours and is taking the day to rest.

I'll be back tomorrow - promise!!

*NOTE: The title of this post is the title of a Stevie Wonder song.

  10. Congratulations. When there is so much going on that is terrible to think about remembering the daily miracles of life is so important.

  18. Nothing nothing nothing matches the joy of having a new grandchild. God bless her and her family. Grammies too.
There will be enough of her to go around.
I don't think love spoils a baby so go ahead and love her all you can possibly.
I have eight grandchildren and doubt there will be more. Youngest if four and I'm told no more. I'm a bit sad.
Love the pic you shared. Thanks.
    Blessings, Barb

  19. Barb - Thank you! So glad you liked the picture. You're right, too; a new grandchild is really a true joy. I think children benefit from having a lot of people to love them, and grandparents have a special kind of love, so I intend to give her lots of it! You are fortunate to have eight grandchildren. I'm sure they've really enriched your life :-).

  20. Annie - Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to you until now. You are so right; with so many sorrowful things going on in the world, it is truly joyous when such a good thing happens. Thanks for your kind and wise words!

  21. Congrats, Margot, the new parents and Grand Dad!

"Two little feet, ten little toes,
    Leave their impressions today.
Soon they will wear two little shoes,
And be running and jumping at play.
Two little feet, too little time,
Before they are walking to school,
Kicking a rock, or skipping a rope,
Wading a puddle or jumping a pool.
Two little feet, One little child,
Will soon go their own way,
But footprints in my mind recall,
    They stood here yesterday.
