What's Your Crime Fiction Personality?

Hello, All,

My sincere apologies if you stopped by hoping to try your hand at a cool, but unscientific crime fiction personality quiz I tossed together. It really was rather fun. Unfortunately, those gremlins that always appear when you most want things to go smoothly have made it impossible to work this quiz on some browsers, and I've had all sorts of technical problems with it.

I've had to close the quiz down because too many of you good people who are kind enough to read and comment tried it and couldn't even read the questions. None of my best efforts could make the quiz appear smoothly, for which I am truly sorry. My apologies for your frustration, and for the fact that you didn't get a real post when you visited.

I promise - there'll be a real post tomorrow.

  1. Mine was cozy! It's a good thing, considering what I write. :)

  2. Elizabeth - Oh, that is a good thing. I think it's best when authors truly love the genre they choose for writing. The enthusiasm comes though...

  3. Mine was police procedural. Not a surprise considering my favourites are detectives are Martin Beck, Van Veeteren, Salvo Montalbano and Harry Hole.

  4. Norman - I have to say, I'm not surprised, either, to hear that. But it is good to hear because it lends validity to this oh-so-scientific ;-) assessment...

  5. It wouldn't work for me...I'll try again~

  6. Ellen - I am so sorry it didn't work for you! I just checked everything and reposted the quiz, so it should work now.

  7. Sadness is not being able to participate in a quiz (even after you have re-posted I still can't see any questions - the screen comes up with question one at the top and the submit button at the bottom) but there are no question or answer buttons in the middle :(

  8. Bernadette - Sorry if the quiz looks confusing. You answer Question 1, then push Submit My Answer. Then it will move you to Question 2. Then you answer and push Submit My Answer. In other words, it's one question at a time. Please give it another go and see what happens.

  9. Mason - I'm very sorry you didn't get to see the questions!

Please see if this link works. Hopefully it will.

  11. I'm sorry, Rayna!! I'll keep working on this thing.

  12. It is really frustrating when that happens, isn't it? Specially after all the effort you put into making it.

You wouldn't want to post the quiz and have us self grade, would you?

  13. Rayna - It is really frustrating - not to say embarrassing. I'm working on a way to do just what you suggested in a way that won't put quiz-takers to too much effort. As soon as I get it settled, I'll post.

  14. Yes, I've started doing quizzes too and been having issues but I'm hoping to get them sorted.

  15. Clarissa - There really can be annoying issues sometimes... Oh, well, I think I've got something decent planned. Stay tuned.

  17. I got through! Thanks, Margot; it was fun. I could never compose one of these things; I have NO IDEA how to go about it. Many times, computers are not my friends.

  18. Patti - Maybe you are wise.....

Elspeth - So glad you were able to do the quiz! As you can tell, computers are not always my friends, either. *SIGH*
