  1. Wow, I'm really horrible! I only got 50% right. It makes me want to read more.

  2. 90% makes me sound knowledgeable when really I am just quite good at guessing. Or should I say deducing?

  3. Woohoo, 80%, which just goes to show, I can guess as well as the rest of em (-;

  4. Clarissa - Don't feel bad; those sleuths don't know much about you, either :-).

Norman -...or a very well-read crime fiction fan :-).

Kerrie - Not bad at all; you know your sleuths.

Bernadette - I like the word deducing. After all, this is about sleuths. And you are knowledgeable.

Vanda - Hey, even the finest sleuths guess at times. Why not you? ;-).

  5. I didn't do well at all. I can see now there are a few authors I really need to brush up on. Only 20%. I hang my head in shame as I go to read. Loved the quiz though.

  6. Mason - I'm glad you loved the quiz :-). The fact is, crime fiction's got so many different sub-genres, authors and great sleuths that it'd be impossible to know them all well.

  7. Only 50% and two of those were detectives we read in class this semester.

  8. Mack - There are so many detectives out there, aren't there? So hard to keep track of them all and really get to know them all well...

  9. Great quiz, Margot!
    Enjoyed it.

    50% correct.
    Not bad :).

  10. Good one! Especially the clue about Mr. Holmes. I had to read it completely to get it right.

At 60% I think my "little grey cells" are due for an overhauling! :)

  11. I hang my head in shame - I got only 40% right, and have read less than a handful of the choices :-(

  12. Christine - Glad you enjoyed it :-). And with so many terrific crime fiction novels and sleuths out there, a score of 50% is, indeed, not bad.

Amey - I'm so glad you liked the quiz. And I enjoyed doing that particular clue, so I'm glad you found it a good one. And I don't think there's anything wrong with your "little grey cells." :-)

Rayna - No need at all for shame. I'm sure that you've done quite a lot of reading of other sleuths and other great books. There are just too many fine books out there...

  13. Thanks for sharing this quiz, Margot - it was fun! I'm sure you got 100%, but I got way, way less. It was a humbling experience.

  14. I am at 20% as well. My only defense is I have not read many of the older authors/books.

  15. Elspeth - Oh, no need to feel humble at all. There are just too many sleuths out there to keep track of them all...

Kevin - No need to mount a defense. The beauty of crime fiction is that there is so much of it in different sub-genres that it's impossible to read it all...

  16. This is obviously a brilliant quiz - I got 90 % without guessing much.

Well, it is probably because you have such a great taste in heroes, Margot. :O

  17. Dorte - LOL!! I knew you'd do well on this one, as well-read as you are and with such a good memory. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
